How to Apply Fire Ant Killer

DIATECT® RESULTS Fire Ant Killer can be applied dry or wet. Choose which method you would like to apply and follow the directions below.

Two Ways to Apply:

Dry Method

1. Circle the mound to prevent escape.
2. Disturb the mound slightly to cause the ants to come out to defend it. When disturbed they produce alarm pheremones which stimulate them to attack. The disturbance will mobilize the entire colony and will draw them out for a quick kill. Don't disturb it heavily as that will cause them to try to move the queen and she may not stay put so that she can be killed.
3. Then sprinkle RESULTS over the mound. This will expose large numbers of ants to the the Fire Ant Killer. Many will be killed atop the mound but others will move back inside carrying the DIATECT® RESULTS throughout the mound and to the queen. Ants carrying the powder will die before they reach the depths of the mound but others will pass them and move it throughout killing every ant. The entire colony will be killed within minutes.

Drench Method

1. Mix the powder in water at a rate of 1/4 cup per gallon.
2. Drench a circle around the mound to prevent escape.
3. Then drench the mound with the RESULTS containing water. This will expose large numbers of ants to the the Fire Ant Killer as it penetrates the mound passages. Many will be killed atop the mound but others will move throughout the colony carrying the RESULTS throughout the mound and to the queen. The entire colony will be killed within hours.
